Chia Seed Water for Skin: The Recipe
This is the version I make every single day. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes from start to finish, most of which is waiting.
Prep Time 2 minutes mins
Cook Time 20 minutes mins
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 14 oz water
- 1 squeeze fruit juice, lemon, lime, or any flavor you like
Add the chia seeds to your glass of water.
Squeeze in your juice of choice.
Stir briefly.
Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
The seeds will absorb the liquid and develop a slightly gel-like coating around them.
Stir once more before drinking.
That gel coating is soluble fiber in action. It's exactly what slows glucose absorption in your digestive tract once you drink it.
No blending. No prep. No cooking. You can start it while you're getting ready and drink it before you leave the house.
One note if you're new to chia seeds: start with one tablespoon and work up to two. Adding fiber quickly can cause bloating as your gut adjusts. Going slowly gives your digestive system a few days to catch up.
